HAHNDORF PUPPET SHOP

Puppets and marionettes have been an integral part of storytelling for hundreds of years and the culture of many countries can be traced by their puppets.

There are fascinating historic marionettes in the Hahndorf Puppet Shop that come from as far away as Czechoslovakia and Korea.

Proprietor Julie Finch has been a collector of puppets for many years and several of the interesting character puppets were hand made by Julie. She is always happy to share her knowledge of this fascinating hobby.

Puppets are a great way for children to use their imagination and there are all sorts of colourful puppets to choose from.

Children have lots of interactive fun with animal hand puppets and family puppets to the small finger puppets available in a wide range of characters.

Julie is currently compiling short stage scripts that children can take part in, using some of Julie’s favourite character puppets.

Julie says she is always amazed at the ease with which children act out the stories with puppets.
